Statuses of all indexing options:

  1. Allow - can be indexed by any search engine.
  2. Canonical - the page has a canonical tag referring to another page. It can still be indexed because the canonical tag only provides recommendations to search engines about what page is not original.
  3. robots.txt - indexing disallowed by the robots.txt file. Sometimes, search engines index these pages because robots.txt only provides recommendations to Google and other search engines not to index them.
  4. Meta no-follow - the page can be indexed, but all backlinks on these pages do not pass link weight. Sometimes, link juice still passes despite no-follow, especially when a no-follow backlink is input into high-authority website excellent content.
  5. Meta no-index - indexing disallowed by the meta robots noindex tag. Therefore, it can't be indexed, but external links with this tag can be added into Google Search Console and pass some link juice.
  6. Meta none - could be similar to the meta noindex and nofollow tag.
  7. X robot tag - indexing disallowed by the HTTP header X-robot tag. Similar to meta robots.
